The small lake just to the East of Lake Woodrock is called the upper lake by the
long-standing members of the association. There are not many people who know the history
of this small lake (and your curator was included in that group), but Lois Perlman found some
letters written by Wesley Hurley to her family in 1980 that summarize the upper lake's history.
Those letter are reproduced here thanks to Lois' careful record-keeping and her willingness to
share them with the association. Thanks, Lois.
